We use the serial number and identifiers from your head unit to generate the factory-style anti-theft PIN or to match a navigation update. Eligibility follows the sticker or on-screen reference on your radio, not the brochure trim name.
You will find the serial on the radio chassis label, or on the SAFE screen when your unit supports that shortcut. For step-by-step reading instructions, open the FAQ tab on this page.
Start by entering your serial in the order form on this page.

How to identify your Mercedes-Benz system for service
Your VIN or head-unit serial is essential for generating unlock codes, COMAND antitheft codes, MAP PINs, and coding requests. Mercedes-Benz systems display the serial on the unit label or through an on-screen diagnostic menu.
- 1
Check the radio label
The serial is printed on a sticker on the top or side of the head unit. You may need to partially slide the unit out using appropriate removal keys to see it.
- 2
Use the on-screen menu
On some COMAND units, hold the "1" and "4" preset buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The engineering menu may display the serial number (format varies by NTG generation).
- 3
Check the lockout screen
When the radio is locked, the display may show a code prompt with a partial serial reference. Note down the exact digits and letters shown.
- 4
Send a photo if unsure
Take a clear photo of the label or lockout screen and send it to our support. We will confirm the serial format and whether your unit is supported before payment.
COMAND NTG4.5+ and Audio 20 NTG5 units usually show a 14-character alphanumeric serial. Older Becker-based units use a shorter numeric format.
