Volkswagen Radio Unlock Codes & OEM Navigation Maps
Unlock your Volkswagen factory radio when it shows SAFE or asks for a PIN after a battery change, or update built-in navigation with OEM map data where we stock a matching file. Delivery by email—no hardware shipped.
Compatible with Volkswagen Arteon, Beetle, Caddy, Golf, Passat, Polo, Scirocco, Tiguan, Touareg, Touran, Transporter, and other supported factory radios we confirm using your head-unit serial.
Full model list — Product Details tab, "Supported VolkswagenCar Models".
We use your radio’s VAG serial: it starts with VWZ (Volkswagen), AUZ (Audi), SKZ (Škoda), or SEZ (SEAT). The full code is exactly 14 characters (prefix + 11 letters or digits, no spaces) and is used to generate the correct anti-theft PIN or to match a navigation update. The identifier on your head unit—not the model badge alone—determines eligibility.
You will find the serial on the radio chassis label, or on the SAFE screen when your unit supports that shortcut. For step-by-step reading instructions, open the FAQ tab on this page.
Start by entering your serial in the order form on this page.

Common searches by model
Search intent often pairs “Volkswagen” with a model name. The rows below are a guide only—two trims can share one head unit, and import markets differ. Compatibility is always confirmed from the serial or label on your radio, not the brochure alone.

How do I find my Volkswagen radio serial number?
For radio unlock codes you need the serial or on-screen reference from your head unit. For MAP updates we also need your VIN, map region, and head-unit model. Locked VW radios display SAFE — the serial is on the label or via the on-screen button method.
- 1
Read the "SAFE" screen
When your radio is locked, it displays "SAFE" on the screen. Press and hold preset buttons "1" and "6" simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The display will cycle to show a 14-character serial number (e.g., VWZ1Z2H1234567).
- 2
Check the radio label
Pull the radio out using VW-specific removal keys (round pin tools). The serial and part number are printed on a barcode sticker on the top surface of the head unit.
- 3
Note the VW part number
Look for a number in the format 1K0 035 XXX or 5C0 035 XXX on the sticker. This part number helps us confirm the exact radio family.
- 4
Take a clear photo
If you cannot read the serial from the screen, photograph the label on the radio chassis. Make sure the barcode and text are legible.
RCD and RNS units display the serial via "1+6" button hold. MIB-era systems may need the service menu for system info — contact us with a screen photo if you are unsure.
